New Routes for Memory Retrieval and Reinforcement
Examining different aspects of learning and memory, Claridge-Chang et al. (2009) and Krashes et al. (2009) converge on the same set of neurons in the protocerebral posterior lateral 1 (PPL1) cluster in Drosophila melanogaster. The different roles attributed to PPL1 neurons demonstrate heterogeneity of function in small neuronal subsets of the Drosophila brain.
متن کاملChaotic Genetic Algorithm based on Explicit Memory with a new Strategy for Updating and Retrieval of Memory in Dynamic Environments
Many of the problems considered in optimization and learning assume that solutions exist in a dynamic. Hence, algorithms are required that dynamically adapt with the problem’s conditions and search new conditions. Mostly, utilization of information from the past allows to quickly adapting changes after. This is the idea underlining the use of memory in this field, what involves key design issue...
متن کاملNew routes for allergen immunotherapy.
IgE-mediated allergy is a highly prevalent disease in the industrialized world. Allergen-specific immunotherapy (SIT) should be the preferred treatment, as it has long lasting protective effects and can stop the progression of the disease. However, few allergic patients choose to undergo SIT, due to the long treatment time and potential allergic adverse events. Since the beneficial effects of S...
متن کاملRoutes to the past: Neural substrates of direct and generative autobiographical memory retrieval
Models of autobiographical memory propose two routes to retrieval depending on cue specificity. When available cues are specific and personally-relevant, a memory can be directly accessed. However, when available cues are generic, one must engage a generative retrieval process to produce more specific cues to successfully access a relevant memory. The current study sought to characterize the ne...
